Claire Farrell, a junior at Norwalk High in Iowa, placed second in the girls 100-meter dash by running 12.58 seconds into a headwind and took third in the 400 meters in 56.39 seconds at the 112th Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Farrell also helped Norwalk finish fourth in the 800-meter sprint medley relay in 1:48.56, along with 19th place in the 4x200-meter relay in 1:48.17.
